There is one obvious lack and that is water resistance. All of the phones are at least IPX7, and most of those include the Flip ones. To be more precise, the newest model of Galaxy Z Flip6 is even IP48-rated so it is quite advanced. Perhaps the Mix Flip of the international variety will have some ingress protection rating, perhaps it won’t. As for now, yes, we can only view it as having no Water insulation at all.

Design, build quality, handling
The Xiaomi Mix Flip is as near to the most current Flip phones – the Razr 50 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip6, and Magic V Flip. When the device is in the folded position, it resembles a small thick tile; when unfolded, it resembles a tall Xperia phone.

On opening the Mix Flip, there is a little touch to separate it from other similar products; it has two back panels and both have curved edges and the back looks like two elegant tiles joined together by a thin layer of plastic. And it is a good one isn’t it?

Concerning the back panels – the upper cover for the 4-inch outer OLED screen is covered by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal glass which is very popular in Asia, the lower one, which protects the battery, has a plain matte completed, but we are not sure whether it is Xiaomi Dragon Crystal or not.

To sum up, the frame acorss both sides is made of polished aluminum and it is flat. While it has this shiny look, more often than not, it is a magnet for smudges.

The hinge is thin and consist of stainless steel. It has non-shiny rubber-like finish, it features very discreet Leica lettering and the parts are well engineered and the clicks snap correctly. It can support all sorts of angles ranging from 45°, 90°, and up to 135°.

See the 4-inch colored external LCD dubbed All Around Liquid Display due to the fact that is wraps through the outer layer of the back skirt. It is not completely bezel-less but as far as the bezel is concerned it is to the minimal. Both the two 50MP cameras are here, situated in a small concave ring that juts out. These two rings, in turn, encircle the display and as for the rest of them, Xiaomi has devised some rather nifty UI for this particular area.

Unfolding the phone provides a large 6. high resolution, high refresh rate and premium HDR supporting wide 86-inch 22:9 foldable OLED. Displays
The absolute main attraction to the Xiaomi Mix Flip is it’s foldable 6-inch display. 86-inch LTPO OLED panel. Its resolution is 1,224 x 2,912 pixels, and the pixel density is 460ppi, which fall under the 22:9 aspect ratio.

The external display employs a 4. is an OLED panel at 1,392 x 1,208 pixels or 01-inch equivalent to 460ppi. This is encapsulated under Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal (Longjin) glass.

The foldable large screen has 10 bits color depth, dynamic, 120Hz, up to 240Hz of touch sampling, HDR10, and Dolby vision. There is hope it can give up to 3,000 nits peak brightness.

The external screen should support 12-bits color depth, 120Hz refresh rate, 120Hz touch sampling, HDR10 and Dolby Vision certification with the peak brightness of 3000 nits.

Of course both have some openings – the internal one has a very small puncture for the miniature selfies camera, and the second one has two roundish apertures for the two rings of the key cameras.
The options with Xiaomi’s display allow Sunlight Mode toggle – if engaged, it does not only raise the maximum automatic brightness level but the maximum manually adjusted one as well.

The is up to 786 nits when manually adjusted, and up to 1,314 nits if the Sunlight Mode is ON or when the phone’s brightness is set to Automatic. As for the maximum screen brightness without the Sunlight Mode, it is 573 nits both for the manual and the auto mode.

The external screen is also nearly identical in terms of peak brightness – manual mode at 745 nits, and auto mode with Sunlight/Auto enabled at 1,355 nits, or 540 nits if the boost functions are not activated.

The grey to point white brightness requirement for both screens was meet at the minimum brightness on 1. 9 nite.
